4 HP 2-Cycle Gasoline engine.
NEW! I’ve scanned and PDF’d the manual. If you are the owner of one of these little monsters and you don’t have the book, you owe me. Be equally kind to a stranger...
As of now (May 2011) mine is back on the bench, awaiting a new magnet for the magneto (from Belanger’s Auto Electric of Maine, who rebuilt it). The sweeps are again the auxilliary. Fairways Marine Engineers, heirs to the Stuart legend, have, alas, as of 1/6/08, given up the ghost, and I wonder how much longer, if at all, this little engine will run.
Note the absolutely classy shift handle: it’s bronze, and looks cool sticking out of the cockpit sole.
