Magnetic signs use as substrate vinyl laminated to a sheet of magnetic metal; the material is about a sixteenth of an inch thick and generally comes in a roll 24" wide. It will take paint or vinyl letters and graphics, and will hold well to the side of a vehicle.
The left example is the sign that was on my truck when I was operating under the name "Signosaurus": it’s 24" wide and 26" tall, and is all enamel, except for the line that says "*But if you must have vinyl..." which is vinyl. I have cut magnetic sheeting into even more interesting shapes than this.
Right is a variation, a vinyl print on magnetic sheeting (you can see a veritable portfolio in the background—I built the image in Photoshop). Back to Scott Leslie Signs page | ||
