This was a restoration project. Originally carved by a Swede from Sausalito—so I was told—it had come down in a storm and broken into two pieces. I did one of the rebuild jobs I describe on my Restoration/Reproduction page, epoxying the pieces back together with reinforcing pins and then repainting the whole sign.
